Hi everyone,

Ok so i mainly keep boars (thankfully) and i must say i actually find bonding boars soooooooo much easier than girls.

I find my girls to be moodier and a lot more territorial - i've also had more issues with bullying with them.

My boys on the other hand seem a lot more chilled out - if they don't like another boar they make it clear and move on - whereas my girls will sulk for days!

Is this just me?

In all honesty i do love my girls to bits but i much prefer my boys

I found my two get on perfectly. McMac can be a little moody after his medicine and Sprout likes to strut his teenage self with rumble strutting now and again but other then that they get on beautifully :) I have always preferred boys. Even if they do seem a little smellier.

Ive bonded quite a few pairs of boars before & found it quite easy too. And Ive got a sow thats living alone at the moment so I really want to bond her with some others but shes such a bully! :))

Lexi and Freya were terrible when I was trying to introduce Archie, they did eventually take to him, but when trying to bond with 2 sows I was looking after for a friend they didn't take to them at all. I've had no experience of boar bonding though so can't compare.

I have 2 boars that can't live together but i can put them out on the grass together and they're fine no rumbling no nothing.

I tried the same with my girls and they were trying to kill each other over a tiny patch of grass! mallethead

They are such strange creatures!

I helped my friend bond her three sows with her boar (neutered), and my goodness i was expecting an easy ride! Took about eight days for things to 'settle' down the head boss sow was not a happy bunny with the new boy. Phew certainly hard work, i've bonded harvey and artie back together and that was a piece of cake.

Tabby was a bit difficult choosing her boarfriend, we had to make a second trip back to the rescue as she kept flying and biting all the other boars.

Personally i think boars are calmer in personality :)

Completely agree! Girls and mood swings eh lol

We have two boars outdoor and a herd of four girls inside.
I have to say that although the girls are moody sometimes and can fall out I find them much more interesting. Our boys bonded easy and are the best of friends but it's kind of boring!
It may be because I don't see them as much as the girls with them been in the shed but I enjoy the demands and squabbles of the girls because it's highly entertaining :)
