Boar Care After Castration Advice Please

I had my Harley castrated yesterday they sent me home with metacam and some recovery plus they have said to start the recovery plus today along with metacam
I have seen him eating not as much as normal but I have seen him eating it says 0.17ml daily of metacam that seems a lot to me do you think they mean 0.7ml once daily ? And do you think I need to do recovery food even though I've seen him eat? Any advice much appreciated please

The metacam dosis is alright for dog metacam. If your boy is in major pain, you can give it twice daily, but please do so only for 2-3 days max. The dosage you have in mind is standard for weaker cat metacam.

Thankyou so 0.17ml is right? I guess I'll have to do the metacam in 2 go's? As I only have a 1ml syringe? He gos back on Monday for a checkup

Wouldn't 0.17ml be just lower than the 0.2 mark on the syringe rather than a full one plus?

Both of my old vets opted for smaller rather than lager doses of pain meds

0.17 mls is just before the 0.2 mls on your 1.0 mls syringe.

Vet should have shown you where to draw up the dosage to on the 1 ml syringe! It sounds a lot but as others have already said the dose is less than the 0.2 mark on the syringe.
They'll have suggested recovery feeding to ensure his gut keeps working ok as it can be a little sluggish after an Op? Is he back to normal pooing and peeing ?
