Oh my goodness these boys are so frisky since I put them together! I had just been petting them a little while before I found it when I brought in their night time veggies and it wasn't there! So last night I took Vinny and Oreo their veggies and I saw something on Oreo's face. Since they have only been living together for a short time I got worried and took him out of the cage right away to take a look.

It was boar glue with little bits of wood shaving from him borrowing in them! Since it is right on his face and kind of on his nose I cannot cut it out of his fur. I was wondering if anyone has found anything to help get it off?? It was too late to pick it off because it was already dried.?/

Oh poor lad! On his face!? That's not nice haha.

I've not encountered the effects boar glue as my boy is neutered. Maybe just try some warm water. Try using the search bar to find similar threads and see if they have any suggestions.

bwahahahaha...sorry :red that reminded me of a scene from Sex And The City lolololol

Class!

No advice though, so sorry :)>>>

Right?! I thought it was very inconsiderate to be getting it on his face for goodness sake:p LOL I looked up other threads and I just found that people resorted to cutting it out because they couldn't wash it out.:{

I am going to search the internet because bath time is tonight and I don't think he will feel clean with that on his face LOL:(|)

Oh dear :{ Poor little lad :)) I suppose you could try soaking it in warm water to see if you can soften it a bit. Sorry I can't give any more advice.

i had this same problem with teddy and muffin.

i got a small about of my just for boars shampoo and some cotton wool and gently cleaned the area. once i had got rid of the shampoo i used an old toothbrush to gently brush the fur on his nose.

i hope this helps.

buy the way, Teddy had to go to the vets last week, as he had boy goo stuck all over his winkle and it was really stinky. i hope you don't get this problem! :)p

Some time ago it was suggested that babywipes may do the job of cleaning up.

Hello, I had this problem a few year ago with two boy pigs i had they used to get it everywhere, all over the backs and on their bellys! My very cheeky two piggies!

Ive found wet flannel to be the best as ive had inncidents of boar glue getting on me :red

Thank you everyone for your advice!
I gave them baths that night and got that spot on his nose damp and it make it easier to pick it off. He didn't seem to mind and didn't make any noise to say it hurt him but a few hairs came out with it:x So far no more glue on the boys but have been picking it off fleece before washing because there is the occasional bigger glob

aww poor thing lol. i have only had two incidents of it and had to cut it out as Rocky let out a cry when i tried to pick it off.

glad you managed to get it off him.
