Hey everyone! My little new addition, Bagel, is finally cured from his cold and I tried a boar threesome (lol) today! My two bonded males are adults and little Bagel is a baby. I was so scared since I already failed with a male trio but I did everything by the book, neutral ground, disinfecting the cage, moving things so they don't recongnise anything.. etc.. etc..

Anyways it was time for the introduction... And I worried too much because those three acted like long lost lovers! Popcorning and squeaking all over the place. It was so funny to see! Of course, they did establish a hierarchy but it was all very quick with a few grunts and bottom sniffing.

Then I put them in the nice and clean cage (it's a two stories cage so they got plenty of room and they love to climb up and down (at least the two adults, because I don't know if baby Bagel understood the concept just yet). It must be weird for him to just see Kug and Pickes pop up from nowhere when the climb up :P.

You have such cute guinea pigs. Do you know trios rarely work with boars though?:(

Aww, aren't they all lovely. Bagel is gorgeous! I hope they stay friends (and Bagel works out how to use the ramp) :))

Thanks guys :D !
I know boar trios rarely work but I hope those three stay friends. I already tried a boar trio but it was three adults and they were fighting because they didn't accept the third one. I ended up giving him to my cousin who was very glad to have a friend for her spayed female :D ! Anyways right now I'm crossing my fingers !

Great that things have worked out, and I hope that that will remain so once your youngster is hitting the big hormones. Trios are great when they work; it is just so difficult to get the character constellation right!

They are certainly a gorgeous threesome!

They are beautiful!

Hope everything works out okay for your boars x

:(|) love the title x)

awwww whee all hope they stay best mates for many many years to come XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Such gorgeous boys! Love Bagel's little face x) Fingers crossed they stay good friends.

I have a very happy trio of boars, they can work! :)

They are gorgeous! x)

What's the secret? I have 3 boars at the moment as we lost Merry the other week and although they live in a pair and a single, they have all their floortime together. There has been some minor disagreements and sorting of pecking order but the are really great together. I now don't know whther to get Suilven a new pal for his cage or to try the current three together full time.

Would need new cage though ours aren't big enough for 3 big boys. Also Hamish & Angus are just starting to hit their hormones now so maybe not a good time to try it.

A boar herd would be amazing but I don't want anyone to get hurt.
