I am unsure of what weight my boars should be at around 9 months old. Quinn is 920g but Kasper is only 800g. He did have a major abscess operation earlier in the year so I don't know if that is the cause. Are these normal weights for boars at 9 months old?

Seems normal to me, I have a full grown sow who weighs about the same as Quinn.

Males vary dependant on size. I have a smaller built male whose a similar age (8 months) and he has just reached 970g whereas I have younger males who are beyond that already (one is only 4 months). I would say Kasper is underweight but he has had a lot to contend with as he had the abscess and he may take a while to catch back up. Males tend to be heavier then females and should be over 900g as they reach adulthood. As long as they aren't losing weight and continue to thrive and gain a little then I wouldn't worry too much. Just keep an eye on them :)

I haven't been able to weight them in a while as I broke my scales and just replaced them today. Kasper has gained 250g since his operation so hopefully it isn't all bad. I'm glad you have males of varying ages and varying weights, it helps me not to worry so much!
