Boars rubbing noses?

My two boars (yes I am 100 percent sure they are boars, they have been checked by a vet), Patch and Moe, used to fight really horribly whenever I put them together. But now I tried to re-introduce them and they acted like old chums! They were cooing at each other and rubbing noses. It looked kind of like they were kissing, Moe would rub Patch's chin with his nose, then Patch would do the same. I am really confused as to this behaviour, because they have tried to kill each other quite a few times before. They are not young, about 3 years old.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Irene,

My two young boars do that and they get along great. I asked here and was told its because they like one another. Maybe now that your boys are older they may be ok with one anothers company.

Mine do that. I have seperated them, as they fight when left together. They are in the same cage with a fence divider, and they can see each other clearly. They chat, and rub noses and are pretty happy piggies whilst this fence is up.

The minute I take it down (for cleaning the cage) there is rumbling, chasing and a lot of pushing. My little boar, Pigpig, has completely accepted Cobweb as being the alpha male, but Cobweb just can't seem to get enough of putting his point across, bordering on bullying, hence the divider.

I find it weird - best of pals when the divider is there, arch-enemies when the fence is down! All down to terratorial behaviour, I suppose. If your pigs are getting on now, I wouldn't question it, they have obviously sorted out who is 'top pig'. Keep an eye on it though, as in my experience, things can change.

Anyway, sounds like things are going well, so good luck! Hope it continues! O0
