Now that Frisky is gone, i'm left with Patch all on his own and i don't want him to pine so i'm going to try and bond him with my other single boar J.J. I know that genarally boys are harder to bond but i'm going to give it a good go. They know each other already as they share the run when they go outside. They are both going to be bathed tonight and they will both go into a nice clean cage :)

(if this is in the wrong section, could the mods move it please, as wasn't sure where to post it! :))

Ive bonded plenty of my boars over the years, Ive been very lucky too to have such docile males. I introduce them in a neutral environment so they have no territory over one another, and I also may put a little perfume on my hands so they smell the same - some may bathe them so again they smell the same. Obviously there is plenty of rumbling and noise, as well as them letting off their smells. Just look for the signs of aggression eg loud teeth chattering of which you would have to separate them and try again at introducing them another time.

I have to introduce my new boar to my other two once he has been quarantined, I'm hopeful it'll go smoothly. Ive only ever had one boar out of 14 or would not tolerate another male.

well, so far so good! gave them both a bath last night and cleaned out their cage, just a bit of rumbling from J.J and Patch didn't even bat an eyelid :) will keep an eye on them for the next week and see how things go, i really thought it was going to end up going wrong but they both seem happy, running around popcorning :))
