COVID-19 Boris Johnson in intensive care

Poor guy. Hope that he makes a speedy recovery. I am sure he will be getting the best of care. Hopefully he can get on the road to recovery soon.
 
I was saying to my mum on the phone earlier, I think he will get worse. He had it way too long and not getting any better
 
This is worrying indeed but what I find most disappointing is peoples reactions. Some of the comments being made on the news articles are downright disgusting. I don't care how much you dislike someone, wishing another human being ill health and death is absolutely foul

The politics angers me, I've seen many people saying the Tories just don't care. I felt it necessary to point out that of course they do as they all have loved ones who fall in the at risk groups. So many people forget that the internet/social media is real life when they post so openly

Agreed above all else we are people, family members and friends and a life is a life and a life is at risk. I've not always agreed with his politics myself but I have to say he was dealing with this crisis as well as could be hoped for and changing leader right now is a worrying prospect. My heart goes out to his family and the people close to him on a human level not a political one.

Yea I happened to scroll down a few youtube comments sections about it all. Grim
 
I really hope he would pull through and get well. This is scary stuff and loads are still dismissing the seriousness of it. I wouldn't wish this thing to an enemy. They (the Covid-19 patients) have families who are so worried and can't do anything and can't be with them at the same time. That is what hurts the most in all these. 🥺
 
I assumed this would be the likely outcome when it became clear he was still ill over the weekend. Official announcements tend to downplay situations like this to avoid worrying the public, as is traditional. There are some incredibly bitter and nasty people who are wishing him death, but that's a tiny minority of opposition parties, at times like these we're above and beyond politics - and I'm heartened that there's overwhelmingly been a keenness not to politicise the situation on either set of benches or by the large majority of party activists, I'm sure I join you all in wishing the PM well, if not as a politician, then certainly as a fellow human being.
 
I actually got pretty attacked on Facebook for daring to say this is only sad. I cannot believe how anyone can actually be happy about this or wish him death. I've suffered because of his policies and cuts, my family have suffered..but there is something twisted in knowing suffering and going on to wish it upon someone else.
I had a feeling he would deteriorate when I heard he had gone into hospital, still having symptoms this far along isnt a good sign, I hope by the morning he has improved.
 
I heard alot of people recover in IC when they put them under to stop your body tiring from fighting the virus and let the machines do the breathing for you. Let's hope this is the case with boris

On Newsnight earlier the commentator's suggestion seemed to be more that he was in IC more for the close monitoring than anything else. They didn't appear to be intending to put him on a ventilator at that point.

I was happy when Boris supported US by saying he was angry China blamed American soldiers for the spread of COVID-19.
Wish him quick recovery.
 
I hope he's ok, don't envy the position he's in at the moment at all.
 
Just a quick update on Boris Johnson, he is still in ICU but in stable condition.
Many high ranking US officials have come out publicly to wish his speedy recovery.
 
The PM is out out of the danger zone, and I imagine his ward is now currently resembling Carry on Nurse.
As an aside, his hair probably does qualify as an honary guinea pig, and I've always called the leftermost GP in our logo Boris in private XD.
