Recently Bradders has been eating his poo, is this normal or am i just being paranoid?

Yes that is very normal, the reason why he is doing this is because the colour of the poop is lighter, which means it hasn't been digested properly yet, so it is still edible. Dark poos are the ones they can't eat which are fully digested :)

Hope this helps xx

Completely normal!
With Wilbur my boar, he has impaction and when I remove the impacted poo, I have to feed it to him. He gobbles it up and I'm trying not to heave! I have found that if you don't feed them the poo, they loose weight rapidly so it sounds like Bradders is doing what he needs to to keep himself healthy :)

Guinea pigs produce two different kinds of poo.
The lighter ones contain, among other things, the vitamin C which guinea pigs can't produce themselves and therefore can't afford to lose.

The piggies should eat the dark ones too cause my pip makes a terrible mess {:|

i was wondering. do they look at the color and eat it if the color is light? or do they just know the ones they have to eat? i have never seen gilbert eating his poos but he does lick his pee. is that normal? also it seems gilbert checks his poos, once they come out. he leaves them alone though.

I've noticed and learned that when i am cuddling them....if they reach down and pull the poos out...ITs time to go back to the cage! If not, I get a nice warm puddle on my clothes! Yes, It is kinda gross...but they need their poos to stay healthy....my daughters still arent convinced its ok

They mostly bend over and pick them directly off; and have a frantic search if they lose one! Mostly by smell...

They usually take them directing from their anus. Sometimes an apparently normal poop will be ingested, which is nothing to worry about either.
The special "cecal" poops are softer, as well as lighter. Think of it as a kind of recycling - getting the most out of things!

My piggie has never eaten a dark brown poo! He's so picky :))

i got basil out of hutch other day and he had all poo round his chops and on his nails must of been having a feast yum yum he still got a kiss of me but not on the lips lol

thats normal, they eat their poop because their diet is mainly hay and grass they extract very little nutrition from them, hence why they need an abundunce of them, their bodies have to process it all very quickly which means that a lot of the goodness are extracted in the faeces so by eating their poop they can get that yummy goodness.

mine constantly eat the poos from their bottoms but never seen them eat one off the floor they just sniff them a little.

To the untrained eye it just looks like they are itching their tummies as they stand on their hind legs and bend forwards.

Next time you see them doing it you'll know it's poo eating :))
