We are not conventional here! 😂

We all know that bonding more than two boars fails 95% of the time…. Yet here we have a very happy (rare) trio 🥰. The two older boys (Thor and Rufus) are living very happily with baby Merlin (who wanted to show off his popcorning on this video). It just proves that everything comes down to character compatibility. Rufus and Merlin are very submissive characters and Thor is a fair (non-aggressive) leader. With Thor happily in charge, the boys are getting along famously.
Of course we have plan B just in case, but these boys won’t be separated now, they think they are the three musketeers!

After Rufus lost Bobby we trialled him alongside Thor and Merlin (not Jacob & Boris as Boris is quite a dominant character). They were neighbours for a while and then the pair accepted Rufus straight away. Let him walk in and join them liked they had always been a three. There’s been not one bit of teeth chattering or arguing over the last week since they let Rufus in. Thor occasionally rumbles his way around to remind the others that he’s boss. But everyone is very happy indeed. Everyone sits and eats together and go their separate ways at sleep time. No one doesn’t get a fair share of food and there are multiple hay and water sources

I’ve obviously never had a trio, this is a first

I am so glad for your boys! And happy for little Merlin. I hope that he stays like that...

Merlin got on really well with his dad and his family and never rumbled so I felt he would make good a boarmate. His little brother Brangwyn is the total opposite...

When it comes to guinea pigs, it always comes down to the right personality mix in small settings. What you cannot count on is buying three baby boys on spec and expecting them to work out.

Just spotted this! Aww look at them :luv: Really hope they all have fun and stay happy chaps together, lucky Merlin getting two boy’s wisdom to learn from growing up! :)
I know it’s definitely not a good situation for some boars, but I’ve always loved the idea of having a little old man trio or group, with some happy, chilled boys that couldn’t care less about sharing their stuff and just get along! Boars are the best (sorry to my girls, I love you loads too but I can’t help it! :))).
So pleased it’s working out :hug:It’s alright, we’re the Wonky House and never been conventional here either! :D xx
