Breast Cancer.

What fantastic news! You will probably have to syringe feed her for a bit did the vet give you some recovery formula? Christian needed 4 days (and nights) of syringe feeding and a gut stimulant too before he ate properly.

I have critical care and am syringe feeding now. Also Ella's Carrot, Apple and Parsnip is a treat for tomorrow instead of the Critical Care, and of course the dried food mashed up too.
No word of cancer at the vets (I know to be sure a biopsy is necessary but right now I want to celebrate getting to this point!) The only thing is she is rasping a bit...you know that sound when they get hay stuck in their throat or are a bit flu-ey. Otherwise she's recovering nicely. The stitch looks good too!

Ah OK spoke to a friend and because they are on their back for the whole operation they can have stuff go the wrong way...makes sense.

Morning report: Amla is doing fine, eating veg and hay (but not dried food yet). The wheezing has cleared up overnight. She's still very grumpy and not trusting of humans right now!

I am so happy that everything went well for Amia & you Pinki. Fingers crossed everything Carrys on improving.
Keep us updated.:luv:

She's had lots of evening veg and has attempted some dried food. She occasionally pointed in the corner today but not for long... I think the scar is healing nicely but it probably still hurts a lot. Thanks everyone for your concern and support.

Try dampening a few pellets with a bit of water so that they are soft but still have form. What dose of painkiller is she on?

wow.naughty 1st vet giving you a bad vibes and now you have a piggie which because of you had a chance. Bless.
.Alma you take your food and medicine and show mummy and us all how strong you are. xx

Well it wasn't just me..a few people advised me to get a second opinion including Claire here..
But I think most vets would have said something similar. It was Vedra from the CCT who put me on to the vet who took one look at the problem and whipped her in for surgery and 2 hours later I was taking her home (hopefully) fully repaired. (I think Peter Gurney was right in his activism)

She's on .35ml Loxi pain killer once daily. Seems to be working

Dave you just beat me to it! I was just about to ask exactly the same question!

@Pinki it is a very stressful time for you. I know this as I was really stressed out with Christian just last week. He is still not out of the woods yet but hopefully will be very soon. Sending you lots of hugs:hug::hug::hug::hug::hug:and lots of healing vibes for your piggy x

Hi
Amla is good. She's eating normally now and I've just started to reintroduce her normal hay...I had to keep her on towels and vet bed because of the incision. What's great is the vet trimmed het teeth back in anticipation of her being off her food, and now after two days her teeth are just right.
She is still definitely underweight however so I'm keeping a close watch.
The scar is healing nicely and the stitches are dissolving.
So all in all it's good.
Thanks everyone and I send good wishes back to Christian Betsy..
