My Boar Barney is 2 years old and we have just got 3 little girls. I would like Barney to be a dad as he is so handsome but i just wondered if he is too old to be able to breed. I know the girls have got to be about 5 months but i wasnt sure about Barney. Can anyone help me with this question? :)

I have no idea, but please think twice about breeding your guinea pigs. It can be very hard on the female and there are already loads of piggies in rescues that are needing their forever homes.

breeding isnt really the best topic on this forum, i dont see a problem with breeding once. If, and only if, the guineas get along, actually are very well bonded and you keep the babies.
if i was you, i'd find a breeding friendly forum that accepts breeding, since this is mainly towards rescue piggies, but you can still talk just not about breeding.

I'm sorry but having a "handsome" boar is a terrible reason to breed him. As has been said, rescues are overflowing with unwantedd pets. Please don't add to them.

I would not risk the lifes of the new sows if you want your boar in with them get him neutered BEFORE you put him in with the sows. Like the others have said thier are thousands of guineas up and down the country in rescues all needing a forever home. Why add further to it by breeding the ones you have.
