Hello,

Should I be concerned about this?
Unsure if it is pee or not as only very small amount.
My girls do like to have a tomato, could that cause this?

Thanks

Even though its still wet? I thought it was only once it had dried?

Thanks for replying!

How old are your piggie? If you’re concerned, I advise a vet check but it doesn’t look like bloody urine to me which usually has a red spot in the centre of the urine pool or dries with a brown outline around the urine pool

Hi!

That looks like normal oxidised pee to me. Anything orange going to rusty is fine; it can vary in intensity. You will notice that the rim around a dried pee puddle is always darker but in the same colour range.
Blood is pink/red drying to brown. When drying in a pee puddle, a small amount separates out as reddish/brown spots in the middle. If there is a lot, it forms a brown ring around a rusty puddle.
Intensely red pees that characterise the onset of a cystitis or urinary tract infection are actually coloured by porphyrine. They may or may not test for the presence of blood. Seemingly clear urine can contain a surprising amount of blood.

I would however recommend to wash your fleece without softener as the pee is sitting on top and is quite obviously not wicked away.
