Brown Spot At Base Of Spine

Can anybody tell me what this brown spot is? Its been there since we first got him at 8 weeks old. At first I thought that it may just be a bit of poo but its always been there. It doesn't seem to bother him and he is in good health otherwise but I just wanted to check if its 'normal'.

Your brown spot is called the grease gland.
