C and C cage now in progress!

Well I got hold of the correx and one pack of grids yesterday and made a start late last night, I've ran out of connectors! So got to pop to homebase later to get some and hopefully piggies will be in their new home by tonight
Does anyone know why cages are almost always 2 x 4 or 2 x 5? Mine is planning to be 2 3 x 3's (one big 3 x 6 split in 2) as a 3 x 3 would give more floor space for the same number of grids?

i didnt use connectors, i used cable ties x

I'm only going to use the connectors on the main corners, still not sure how i'm going to do the correx as ideally I want it made for the whole cage but with a divider of grids through the middle, I'm an awkward so and so!

lol i think the connectors are crap, i always use cable ties...but i have to admit...i have a slight addiction with them x

Finished! Well almost, I'm just waiting on some more grids to make the haylofts and need to decide whether to go for fleece or megazorb as bedding but heres the finished piccy:
