Hello, newbie after advice please.

I built a c&c cage with grids from a shelving unit. I've just been reading some threads here (thank you for all the helpful info!) and I see that I've used the wrong size. Ours have 7 squares not 9. I've justdone a quick patch up with spare correx to make the sides higher as I'm worried our 3 month old piggies will get stuck 😣. It's now about 12cm high. Does this look okay safety wise? Is there anything else people recommend other than buying new grids?
Thank you. IMG_20210307_231100.webp

I’d be careful... at 3 or 4 months one of my piggies walked straight through a normal c&c grid! She was quite small, but it was a bit of a shock. I’d consider changing the grids I think.

One of our pigs walked straight through 8x8 grids at 12 weeks, we walled ours up with cardboard until our baby was 6 months (and also replaced with 9x9 grids). If you have enough spare grids you could potentially double them over at a step using cable ties so the holes are much smaller.00AE6E00-46A5-4773-9CB2-2A6C0C41D1C7.jpeg

Thank you for all your replies. I'll order some of the 9 square grids today and use those to remake the cage (perfect excuse to turn the 4x2 into a 5x2 😬) and keep the old grids for the stand and lid. I'll stick with higher correx sides until they are a bit older too, thank you for that suggestion. Hopefully current set up will be okay until I can fix this up 🤞🏼.
