Hi,

Before Christmas I took in 2 rescue pigs. They were supposed to be females and I wanted to bond them with the 2 I already have. I have now discovered that both rescue pigs are male. If i had them neutered would they still live happily with my 2 females?

Thanks

I've read on here that two males don't work with any amount of females as they'd fight over them. Your options would be to keep boars together but away from females, or get them both neutered so they can have a female each or use it as an excuse to get two more females!

Welcome to the forum! Bad that a rescue can't sex them correctly, it really isn't hard!

Thanks.

I had heard that males fight even if they just smell a female but these to get on fine even though they are in same room as the 2 girl and when they play out they can see the 2 girls.

I don't want to spend the monet getting them neutered if it means I will have to split them up.

I guess they will stay as 2 pairs.

As long as they're happy that's a better arrangement than risking neutering imo :)

I agree. If you have four happy pigs, why change things?

i have exp in this field! my pig bit off half of his fathers lip and ear and broke his fathers paw over his (not the fathers) sister!
