Can i have thread in my piggies cage?

Recently i bought a cozy pouch thing for the guinea pigs but they are scared of it haha. So i decided to turn it into a bed for them to lie on. It worked, but i accidentally made a hole in the process of making it. They are chewing on the inside of it so i want to sew it up but i'm worried about them eating the thread and getting sick. Is it safe?

If they are chewing the pouch and it is made of fabric then this could be harmful to them so I would probably remove it from the cage altogether.
The otehr thing you could try would be to add lots of things for them to chew and see if this distracts them from the pouch.

Some of our favorites are toilet roll tubes, paper bags stuffed with hay, anything made of willow, apple and pear branches (from a safe source), and wooden houses.
If you make sure they have lots of other chew things, then they may leave the pouch alone and then it would be safe to have it in their cage.
