Can I mix three different hays into a container?

Hello,

I have two new guinea pigs. I have three types of hay at the moment all in separate bags and it’s taking up so much space. I have all these variety’s due to trying them all out when my last Guniea pig who is sadly not with me anymore wasn’t eating (it wasn’t down to the hay)

I thought maybe if I mixed a load up in a container (big barrel thing) and then fed them that? I’m not even sure what hay they are into at the moment so that’s another reason why I thought I would do that.

I can't see any reason not to mix them, provided they are all fresh and dry, no damp, mould or mustiness. It might make it more interesting for them, having to hunt through a mixed pile for whichever piece smells tasty.

Mine nearly always have a mix. I think it's more interesting for them. I mix pellets as well but with 8 guinea pigs we get through a lot of hay and pellets it's probably not practical for people with 2 to feed.

We also mix our hay, think I have 3 different sorts on the go at the moment. Usually a similar situation- I sometimes get a different hay, then our 2 decide they suddenly prefer our older bag of hay!

(We mix pellets too- 2 different kinds.)
