Can one guinea pig cause a room full to fall out?

Hi all,
I have just had the most bizarre thing happen. i had to remove one of my trio lately because he was bullying the others but i placed him in a seperate cage next to the other two thinking it would be good for him if he could still hear the others. Hes been wheeking alot since i seperated him but the other two were starting to settle together well. Tonight i was up there when the one i seperated of started going crazy he was chattering and trying to chew through the bars of his cage to get at my other pigs iv never seen anything like it. This caused my other pigs to start chattering and all of a sudden 7 of my pigs were chattering at each other even ones that had never done it before. I took the one that started it out of the room first because i thought he was going to hurt himself banging on the bars and as soon l left the room with him it went quiet. Iv just spent a good hour in there and all the pigs are acting normally sinse he left. Could one guinea pig have caused this or was it coincidence it stopped when i removed him. I think maybe he started it which caused his old cage mate to chatter back at him which had a knock on effect until all my boars were chattering. Luckly there was no fights but boars that had been together ages with no problems were starting to chatter at each other, raise heads, strutt and circle each other.
 
Yes one piggy can cause a whole lot of trouble ;D My room full of boars go crazy at times but it settles down again :smitten:
 
I've only had boars for 3 days so cant really help with that! But i did have a similar experience with my ladies, they have been living in seperate cages for a while now and about amonth ago Alice had a mad night! she was literally throwing herself at the bars trying to get at Wendy and chewing frantically! I've never seen her so worked up, she really worried me! I moved the cages well apart for that night and put them back together the next morning and have had no problems since! bless the odd little sweeties! :)
 
They are strange the noght before the night pippa gave birth all my boys went mad and started scent marking all over the place the house smelt awful! and they live opposite sides of the room 98)
 
I'm really worried about putting the one i removed back into the room. One of my others just starts chattering when he hears him but its never caused this before and i thought it would settle down. I'm worried now that if i put him back in the cycle will start again and il have them all fighting and falling out. Could it be coincidence it stopped when i removed him?
 
I wouldn`t have thought it was a coincidence but I would try putting him back in the room and let them get on with it. It should settle down, it is tempting to intervene I know, but they usually sort it out ;) If it is still going on in a day or two, you may have to remove him :(
 
Definately, a different squeak in the room can upset everything! I've just added 2 new baby boys and when Shaunie squeeked at first the whole room went beserk! As LJ says you do have to let them sort it out so long as no one is getting hurt, but they will settle down - I have 5 boars that run around the same room seperately but with the scent of the previous piggy around, which caused trouble at first but after a while they settle in to it. I have yet to let the babies add to the scenting saga but I expect there will be a bit of trouble then too!

More often than not the noises they make are worse than their actions, my new baby Denzel is rumbling constantly but when I look in the cage Shaunie is on the other side eating happily!

Try and introduce the single one back into the room, siting it out maybe better than keep taking him in and out of the room if it doesn't settle down you may have to remove him all together....
