Carrots ? My mate grows her own and she composts the green top.... not sure if they can eat it?

I have fed carrot tops before, well rinsed and any bad bits thrown away. As with new veggies, introduce gradually. The carrot tops go wilted very quickly so don't feed them once they go off.

I think you can feed them, but not too often as it looks like they're really high in calcium.

This is what I found in Guinea Lynx (Guinea Lynx :: Topic - Carrot tops/greens, watercress and parsley root?):
Sorry I wasn't more specific. The carrot tops are extremely high in calcium (someone had trouble finding the info but that's what we discovered).

Thanks @Teddybear22 I couldn't remember their calcium content, but know my foster piggies(whenever I've had some in residence) go mad for them as a change from usual selections!

No problem! I also fed them to Teddy every now and then and he reaaaaally loved them too!

Thanks everyone... i know a few others with piggies at school so can share them when i get them...
