Hi, I don't post much but I've picked up some great tips from here.
Anyway, I was wondering if you can overfeed the guineas? From reading on here I think it's pretty usual to give a bowl of dry food, fill the hay rack and a selection of fresh veggies every day, which is what I do. But mine wheek at me constantly, their noses are always pointing out of the hutch and they always seem desperate for food. They are so insistent that I seem to be topping up their veggies 3 or 4 times a day - does that seem normal?
They were outside during the summer and munched on grass all day so I'm wondering if they've just got into the habit of eating constantly?
I have two girls, just nearing a year old, they have beautiful fur and seem a good size (though I have nothing to compare them to) and they are very happy, they love running around in their run and hiding in the tunnels and things.
But if I'm honest their demands for food are getting me down, I feel very guilty about it, like I'm not giving them enough, I can't go anywhere near them without them shouting at the tops of their voices, if I even open a packet of crisps in another room they wheek like mad and preparing vegigies for my own tea well! (though they don't do this to my husband or children, do they sense weakness in me, that I will feed them if they ask? And should I be doing this?)
Any advice?
