My piggy Paisley has worms, but is doing very well. She doesn't have diahhera anymore, all we must do is feed her critical care. She was treated with a dewormer. Can worms kill her in this situation? I'll post updates on her once a day or so. For more updates, follow my pet account on Instagram @wheekswoofsclucks

Guinea pigs don't get worms in the same way as a cat or dog. So your pig probably has internal parasites.

What was the wormer she was given? If she HAS worms then I assume the treatment is ongoing and not complete?

Like any untreated illness, such as a URI "worms" can kill but if treated correctly your pig will fully recover.

It is working very well and she is showing progress, our follow up appointment is today. She was given the treatment on Sunday and it is Tuesday, all of the worms and eggs are probably dead by now.

I would have imagined that any treatment would be given multiple times, like you would for mite treatment. Then it ensures it captures any eggs that hatch since the initial treatment.

It sounds like your vet is treating her like they would a dog so it would be worth finding out what the treatment was and to Google it to see if it is effective on guinea pigs.

I have used Panacur before, for parasites. It was given daily for a length of time (I can't remember what) so a one off dose os unlikely to work.
