Can you put baby female guinea pigs with and older male?

We just got a call saying the Mother and baby are no longer for sale, which is a real shame. I’m thinking of just buying now because Pablo is so lonely and I’m fed up of him looking depressed.

You must be feeling disappointed.
Sometimes buying is the only option left to us.
I bought my 2 youngest from a pet shop who only source from a reputable breeder because Merab was really pining after losing her cagemate.
Her wellbeing was paramount.
Hope you find Pablo a lovely companion.

Would it be okay to put an older male with baby females then?
 
I see no reason why not so long as he’s neutered.
Age us less important than compatibility.
If you have no opportunity for dating then getting 2 girls will give you a plan B should Pablo not bond.
The girls can still live together so you don’t have 2 single piggies.

When one of my original boars died young (brain tumour) I got 2 sows for his surviving brother.
Merab is the last of that trio.
She was about 3 when she was left alone and I bought 2 baby girls . The babies were bonded sisters and Merab bonded with them very easily.
