Can’t get Guinea Pig’s Penis out. Help Please

Hello,
I bought a guinea pig about 5 months ago and was told it was a male. It has an anal sac that I have been able to clean out. However, I haven’t been able to get his penis out. I have pushed down, I have tried to coax it out etc. I don’t know if I should be worried or not. The only reason why I want to make sure it is a male is that I am currenlty fostering another male guinea pig and hope to introduce them. I am able to get the new guinea pig’s penis out. Please help!

Hi. I can’t extrude my boys’ penis either but I know they’re males. Here’s a link that’s posted in the boar bits and bums info section.

If you’re still unsure you can post a photo and have help identifying the sex.

@sainsworth If you can't do it yourself you could pop him to the vet to extrude it and check.

I agree. I can’t extrude my boys penis either but if you are worried, a vet should be able to double check for you

I've only ever seen my boys actual penis once and was when my vet examined it

We have the opposite problem- getting Theo to put his away! He shows it to everybody, if we pick him up and look at his tummy he thinks that's what we want to see and out it comes
