So...
Upon re checking fudges urine at the vet, it was blood free. The vet was also happy with her hydration, and says there's a chance her kidneys may not be in immediate danger due to the turnaround.
I explained how she didn't have a very good night and seemed uncomfortable, and although she seemed to be eating and cleared her veggies as usual, she had lost weight quickly over 24 hours.
She said it may be something else so gave her a full MOT..
Turns out she was extremely painful when a certain part of her spine was palpated; and we already know she has arthritis there so it's more than likely that. The vet was confident this is the reason for her current drop in health and advised I up her metacam.
This isn't great as far as her kidneys go, but her pain level and of corse breathing is our priority.
Her heart rate is good and strong and her lungs sound decent.
The vet wants to check her kidneys in a fortnight now, after she's been on the higher dose of metacam as she said if we do it now; we will need to do it on 2 weeks time also, and she doesn't think they are the problem at the moment.
I have fudge a dose of tramadol to kickstart her pain relief and she certainly seems happier.
She had porridge for breakfast..
Grass for lunch..
And some critical care for tea, to try and prevent any further weight loss. She scoffed it!
I'm praying her demeanour and appetite returns to normal once the arthritis flare calms down.
I'm almost scared to feel relieved....!
