new pig parent here, we got our pigs ponyo and pancake just under 2 months ago and when we got them we were told they were both female, however a few days ago we went to get them for social time and to our surprise there was a baby piggo in the igloo with pancake, the place we got them from told us that they didint guarantee anything so we tried to see if we could tell the sex ourselves and weve confirmed pancake and peanut(the baby) are both ladies however ponyo leaves us alittle confused any help would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance

i added a picture but then i read in the rules that showing of pigs is not allowed so i removed it idk if i can send the pic in a message or something sorry

its probably obv to somone that knows what they are looking at but just from what we saw online we couldnt tell if that a little penis or if ponyo just has a larger vulva then the others

She looks a lot like Leela, who I had a hard time figuring out the sex of too (she is a girl, but has a 'sow knob' which is easy to mistake for a little penis.) Can you press above the slit and see if you feel anything under there or can get a penis to protrude with pressure? When you feel above the slit, does she feel the same as your other girls or can you feel something under the skin that the confirmed girls don't have?

I'm not going to try sexing, but just to say that a pregnancy is around 10 weeks, so it is possible that she came to you already pregnant. There is a really detailed sexing guide if you look in the 'forums' tab at the top of the page. There's something about looking inside the slit, and if there's a fleshy arrangement, it's a girl, penis ridge just above the knob if it's a boy. You can compare with your other two when checking these things. I do hope it's a girl, but if it turns out to be a male, you can still have all three together if you have the boy neutered and wait 6 weeks before putting them back together. Good luck. (I would have posted a link to the sexing guide but I can't do it on my phone).

It's correct that you can put pictures of guinea pigs on here. The showing refers to traditional guinea pig shows which are intertwined with breeding cycles and often ways for breeders to identify pigs they want to breed from which is why we have the no show rule. Pigtures on the other hand we love!

Illustrated Sexing Guide
Please have a look at our sexing guide. You will need to peer inside the slit and feel for the presence/absence of a penis ridge to 100% confirm. As you know the other adult is a sow you can use her to help you compare

thanks to everyone for you help, after another look we couldnt feel anything penislike under the skin so were pretty confident that we got lucky and all our piggos are ladies and we were able to "un-separate" them cant thank you guys enough :)

Sows have a fleshy seal just below the opening when you gently pry the slit apart. Boars have straight slit that goes straight down into the anal sac; the difference is very obviously.
When double-checking genders, ideally you look at a piggy first whose gender you are sure of and then work out the whether the newbie's slit inside looks similar or not. Our sexing guide link has got the relevant pictures at different ages. Once you know where to look, you will find it much easier to sex piggies without having to rely on other people whose experience and knowledge you know nothing about.
Sexing from a picture has got its limits, especially where it descends into a mere guessing game for all. That is why we ask anybody to please do the often critical hands-on part that we cannot provide themselves: Illustrated Sexing Guide
