My little orange and white tufty squeak box Caramel is having his operation to remove a certain pair of plums today.

I have left him with fresh grass, red pepper and coriander.

Hope he is ok.

When I booked him in I was told not to feed him on the morning of the op! I explained (a tad heatedly) that that was incorrect information and that a guinea pig must always eat. I mentioned it to the nurse today who said that is not something that they would ever advise and that she would follow it up with the receptionists.

I had already spoken to the vet before booking him in and had been assured that they had all had some experience with neutering guinea pigs.

Good luck sweetie pie x

He is home! He sailed through the op and the nurse said that he had been eating red pepper and herbs.

They fell in love with him due to him being so fluffy and cute (me too). They were also very impressed with his fleece hide from piggie pig pigs. Again me too.

It was so lovely to put him back in his cage and watch him look around him and start eating grass. Only six weeks til bonding!

So pleased he is doing well. Sorry I just sent the hugs I was about to type a message when the phone rang and I've been busy since.

so sorry to have missed this important thread! but now I am happy that everything went very well and you did even the right thing to advice the vet about the wrong information from the receptionist.
Let's wait now for a fast recovery! and 6 week before the marriage!:jel:

He really is mr cheery chops. Gave him a brief laptime session with veg. He half heartedly ate some. Mainly hid in his cuddle pouch from piggiepigpigs (what awesome stuff she sells). I put him back into his cage and he peeked out of his pouch, heard J and M chattering and started to popcorn making little happy noises x

I do hope that the bonding goes well. I have heard that 4 is better than 3 ... Go on evryone, tell me that it isnt true!

maybe another sow...:D but let's see the trio now!

Trio bonding will start on the 20th of September. Soooo long to wait. Caramel seems pretty contented and is practicing his manly rumblestrutting. Mistletoe and Jingle will go up to the bars every now and again which sends him into a flurry og bum wiggling! Most of the time they are just chillin or eating at the other end of the cage.

I am so glad he is doing SO WELL since the snip. Even if I keep reading his name as "Camel" and having to correct myself :yikes:.

When I first saw the thread I was thinking "Camel is an odd name for a guinea" then I looked again and saw the letters my brain apparently skipped the first time around.

Naughty Jingle and Mistletoe teasing him, I do love the way the guys just burst into a round of rummblestruts at the slightest bit of attention from the ladies. Typical men :tu:

what kind of party are you planning for that day?

Squeakz 'burst into a round of rumblestruts' lol so true. He is all young and excitable. M and J are the grand old age of one year and are all mature and casual when it comes to boys!

Rome Italy it will be a party with a lot of ready made food and a dog walker hired so that I can observe proceedings verrry carefully! I do hope they are kind tomsweet little excitable Caramel.

C had laptime again today, in his snuggle pouch. He bravely came out for nearly 3 seconds. He did munch grass so mustnhave been ok. They are all sooo lovely x
