Over the last 24h one of our piggies just wasn't herself and then last night the carbon monoxide detectors went off and we got eveyone out the house including small furies. All has been fixed and biscuit is fine! She is back to her constantly hungry, bossy, popcoening noisy self. Just shows how important these things are.

I bet it was your boiler gasket seal worn out. Glad your all ok
There was a problem with the boiler as pilot light wouldn't stay lit and a gas leak from under the cooker we were unaware of but it explains everyone feeling sick in the evenings for the last few days.

You are very lucky you didnt die😐

Thank goodness you had an alarm, just goes to show how important it is to have one. My daughter had a very similar experience which scared everyone in the family who didn't have one to get one. I am very pleased to hear you are all okay.

Glad that you caught it in time to save your piggies; their tiny airways are so sensitive!

I have a carbon monoxide alarm right by my boiler in my kitchen. In the first place any carbon minoxide will try and escape. I always shut the kitchen door fully when I'm not home or asleep. And my bedroom door. And the pigs living room door. If i heard it go off il go outside and brick my kitchen window in👍.

Cars are a place where you can get it too, from exhaust fumes from a leaky exhaust manifold

I phoned the emergency line for British gas and they told me how to turn the gas off from outside and had to open all doors and windows and wait outside for them. We got kids and piggies out very quickly before even making the call.

And BBQs. A friend of mine brought her cooling bbq inside for reasons I don’t understand but that set it off! And people have come unstuck in caravans after moving bbqs underneath to keep them safe from kids and pets after use but the fumes have got in through the vents in the wagon. I’ve heard of people taking them into tents for the same reason too.

Thank goodness you were alerted before the piggies came to harm.
