This may have been mentioned previously, forgive me if it has.
I recently went into my local Carpet Right and they were very happy to give me one of the cardboard tubes that go inside the carpet free of charge. It was very long (3M) but cuts down well to provide play tubes for the piggies. I have one which is 4 foot long in their play pen and they love it - they run through chattering as it echos their little voices! It's so sweet!
It's worth trying your local store for one as they are really good quality and you can cut them to whatever size you want. You may want to take something along to cut the tube in half before you drive off though!
