Only months after her bladder stone operation, Cariad was found to have a small hard lump and a very enlarged womb full of discharge in the preliminary examination at the vet's today. Incidentally, the decision to operate turned out to be the right one, as the lump was also located in the womb, and her ovaries were both cystic and not looking good, either! :(

The good news is that her bladder was much better state than expected, as the wetness of the last few days was obviously from the womb and not an irritated bladder. It means that while Cariad still has an underlying issue with her calcium absorption that cannot be addressed directly, her current regime is going in the right direction.

The poor girl is not too bright after her ordeal, so please send her your vibes!

sending vibes for your little girl. post op care is what is important now and i know she could be in no better hands than yours to provide that :) the emergency spay deffinately sounds like the right thing to have done. x

Sending healing vibes to Cariad, poor girl. She has been in the wars recently, she is certainly in the right hands Wiebke x

Sending lots of healing vibes from here. Really hope she is ok.

Lots of love to you and healing vibes to Cariad. She is in the most safest of hands with you. Hugs and healing vibes from us both x x

Cariad is much brighter this morning and has been eating a near normal breakfast (including a trip to the hay). I am sure that she'll enjoy a bit of freshly cut grass later on!

She has thankfully started eating hay and herbal forage during her hand feeding session in the middle of the night, so that is a real weight off my chest!

Currently, she and Bryn are back under their snug upside down dog basket shelter for a digestive nap.

Thanks to all your well wishes - they seem to work!

Pleased Cariad is doing well today.. I'm sure she will enjoy her Grass time with the tribe :)

Keep it up Cariad
x

Cariad has been happily tucking into a portion of fresh grass, followed by another round of pellets before going back to sleep. Bryn is demonstrating his caring side, and is a very attentive husboar.

I cleaned a decent amount of good sized, normal looking poos from the sleeping area; no sign of blood. The wound is looking clean and very neat.

Thank you for the update, and picture - she's looking pretty good, I have to say. Delighted she's doing so well, and how sweet that her husboar is so very gentle and attentive.

Brilliant t osee her looking so well, it all sounds encouraging! x x

Come on Cariad, you'll soon be prancing around the place again. Lot's of love from all at Dindy Towers.

Glad she's doing so well! We're currently doing the diarrhoea battle, much to Maggie's disgust! Fibreplex and no veggies...poor pig!

I am very sorry that Maggie has such continued problems with her digestion! My Fflur also had gas problems caused by her ovarian cysts, which contributed to her not waking up from her spaying op. :(

Perhaps because with Cariad it was the womb and not her cysts that were the problem, she's not having any trouble with her guts. Her poos look amazingly healthy and normal for them being within 24 hours of her operation. As she is on the lower side of 800g, I am very glad - she really needs to hang onto every single gram of body weight!

Here she is with her operation scar:

Maggie's problems seem to stem from the huge cyst and the even bigger tumour moving her organs around her abdomen!

I really hope that her tummy can settle down again once her body has recovered from the stress its been under for some time! Not fun for Maggie or you! Hers was much more of rescue action than Cariad's - Cariad's was more in the nature of removing a time bomb on the ticker before it really could go off.
