Hi folks. I’m interested to know how you prepare hard veg like carrots and parsnips for you piggies. I’m not Sure whether to make batons or grate it. I’ve done both in the past but not sure what’s best to minimise a cough/choking hazard. A previous vet advised to grate it but he wasn’t piggie savvy. I would appreciate your comments . It freaks me out a bit when they cough

I just chop it. Parsnips are an extremely rare treat as I can't stand them so they get the peelings when hubby has them (usually Christmas). Carrots they get one sliced up every now and then

Ohh I’ll bear that in mind. I'm
on my own so just buy one carrot or parsnip at a time. I’m a avid recycler so this is great news 😁

I just cut the carrots up like normal(I give them baby carrots) and have watched them and they seem to eat them with no problems! Maybe that's not the right way though, but my piggies seem fine when eating chopped carrots.

I hate them and we only have them at Xmas for the husband too! Mind you, I like sprouts but he hates them.
