Fred loves the carrot tops, I don't give him a carrot just the tops of the carrots that grow out the ground is this ok for him?

He does occasionally get carrots, but he does get alot of the green carrot tops!

Mine also love them, they're a bit hit for many pigs. Last I checked they are a little high in calcium, but as with everything else little bits of lots of different foods is best.

I grew carrots over the Summer; I ate the carrots and the piggies and bunnies had the tops. :)

Ditto for turnips and radishes.

Radish and carrot tops are/were a big hit with everybody. Whereas only the bunnies like the turnip tops (and I thought guinea-pigs scoffed ANYTHING!).

Yep mine get carrots with leaves now and again for a treat. Carrots with tops are are sooo expensive. I bought some at a farm shop on sunday (very reasonable priced and tonight they have one carrot between two complete with a top 3 times the size of the carrot, They had so much fun. Tiger and Amy were playing tug of war with theirs :)) Amy had the carrot end and tiger had the leaves. the whole thing nearly spanned the length of the cage. It was so entertaining to watch! :)
