Hi,
Do you give your guinea pigs carrots whole or chopped up?
I give my girls carrots every other week but put them in whole and they just nibble away at them but I have seen people chop them up.
What do you do? x

I give marmite his whole as it gives him something to play with and makes it more interesting for him (:

Bentley and Chester get theres chopped though, as they get spares from chopping up roast dinner !

I serve them chopped into portioned pieces as we'd otherwise have WWIII within the group!

I give both, but chopped up more, sometimes i stick a whole one through the side of the cage, but they bite bits off and drop them, but when i cut it up and put with their other veggies in the dish they eat it all.....? x

whole pieces, they have great teeth so do not need it chopped up or grated.

Mine aren't too keen on carrots but I usually give them carrot peelings every so often.

I give mine carrots chopped up and scattered for them to forrage for. I wouldn't ever give mine a whole carrot; carrot isn't great for them to have in large quantities or frequently due to the hgih sugar content and the high levels of vitamin A. I dice mine and scatter in the hay :)

Our piggies like them in ribbons...I use our vegetable peeler to make the ribbons. They are very particular. If I put them in whole they look up as if to say "you know we like them in ribbons" and usually leave them!

I chop them up as Oreo is still quite little. Red will happily eat whole carrots but Oreo can't quite yet.

I think I will continue to half them as they can eat them easier.

Stu
