Cat grass

I noticed in The Range garden centre the other day some cat grass in the cat section. There was also kitten grass. Just wondering how long it takes to grow, is it safe for piggies to eat and is cat grass or kitten grass better? Connie and Eliza love grass but our grass is still yucky at the minute
