Hi there

Need a little help again! My boy's penis is hanging out (pictures attached) and I'm a little worried that it is going to hurt him/cause him discomfort.

I have mentioned this to a vet a few days ago and she was able to tuck everything back in place. I have not been able to do so however and it's still like the pictures! The vet said he might need a stitch to keep everything together but I understand that this is extreme so I doubt that we will go down that route.

I've noticed online that some boars' penis are just like that. Is that really true? Or is there something to worry about here?

Thanks a lot!

The penis is a bit "cauliflowery" and you can see clearly the two spikes right at the tip of it. if it keeps coming out like that, then there can be an issue of infection/injury.

Thanks again! I'm really grateful. It seems that my oldest boy has been having a difficult time of it recently!

I'm going to speak to the vet again about the possibility of stitching but I'm really not sure if that's a good idea. I know anesthetic can be a risk.

Should I be trying to put his penis back in? Or just leave it?

For now i wouldnt try pushing it in what with those spikes but i would suggest purchasing some sterile lube sachets or tube and just applying it to his bits as they are to prevent things drying out. Definately see the vet again about a long term solution.

All the best

My boar has the same issue, he was castrated as the vet said it could be hormonal but it has made no difference. I wasn't keen to have more surgery on him and the vet said putting a stitch in was really all that he could do. I check it daily and pop some ky jelly on it. Did you have any luck sorting your piggy?
