Is the calcium content of this high? It's also known as black kale. I'm restricting the amount of calcium my piggies get as my Rainbow Piggy Velvet had bladder sludge and stones.

Good question, I hope some knows. I hadn't seen Black kale before but they were selling it off for 10p in Asda this week so I bought some for the girls to try and they love it.

Mine 4 remaining piggies love it too. But if it is high in calcium that is another thing off the menu ......

Bill and Ted love Cavolo Nero too, I‘m sure sure of calcium content eithet

I would imagine it is quite high in calcium as its dark cabbage really :(

Poor piggies its a shame we can't extract the calcium out for them!

Wonder if the calcium is in the leaf or the stalks? My two leave the stalks, spoilt boys

Apparently the stalks are where the most fiber is, and then the rest in the leaves. Don't know, just looked it up
I can imagine that, some of it is quite difficult to eat, we always get the “end of the bag” when it’s not quite as fresh and the boys have turned their nose up!

Black kale is simply a variety of kale and should be treated as such. If you are aiming for a low calcium diet, then please leave it out.
