Hello 🙂
I was doing veggies for my boys earlier and I forgot how many times a week they can have celery so I checked the forum and it said celery can be given daily but the leaves not as much because they are higher in calcium. This completely contradicted what I thought I'd read before which was maybe 2-3 times a week but the leaves more often.
Can someone please confirm which one is correct? Thanks 🙂

Leaves being higher in calcium so to be fed only occasionally is what I have always thought to be the case.

I stopped feeding celery because of the conflicting advise between the forum and the vets . My vet says leaves are better to feed than stalk which should never be fed! it's to do with oxalate. I did find celery increased the sludgy deposits on the fleece, if I buy celery for me (rarely) the they get a leaf each as a treat. I've adapted my piggie diet by trial and error, introducing small bits of food slowly and seeing what food causes larger calcium deposits, some pigs seem to tolerate foods differently just like people.

Eddie and Elvis both love celery so I think they'd be indignant if I completely cut celery our of their diet so I'll make sure both celery stalks and leaves aren't fed too often to be on the safe side, maybe once a week or so. And I'll help an eye out for extra calcium patches too. It's odd that the information is quite so conflicting...
Thanks for the help 🙂
