When my two adopted girls had learnt to trust me I used to get wheeked at when they saw me and they would also come over to see me if they were downstairs in the run area if I walked past them. WELL since two have been indoors in their nero 3 cage they run and hid in their pigloos every time i go to say hi, I really dont understand why the sudden change in behaviour. Is it just a case of being patient and waiting whilst they get used to being indoors (They were kept outside all year round in their previous home)

any ideas and thoughts would be greatly appreciated

How long have they been indoors? I think they will need some time to get used to their new environment.

Hi there Laure,

they have been in since Monday, perhaps I am expecting too much too soon eh?! LOL

Yes I would definitely give them a little more time. A few years back (when i got my first piggies) I brought them indoors after 6 months of having them living outside and it took them a while to get used to it. What I can say though is that after being a little shy initially they became much more friendly than they had ever been. Personally I put that down to them being indoors and seeing more of us.
Good luck!

Many thanks for that Laure,

I will just be patient and hopefully my two girls will like yours become more friendly

my boy was outside and was nervous for a while when i brought him in, but hes alot friendlier and confident with being around us more indoors, you wait and see they'll be fine O0

They are a little bit better already, cant believe that Molly laid in the middle of the cage and went to sleep this morning instead of going to her pigloo! mind you she did bolt in there when I switched on the hoover!

It is lovely having them indoors, they were sitting by their vegatable dish this morning when i came downstairs and their little faces staring up at me made my morning!

I have popped them out into their outdoor run for a hour or so this afternoon, such a wonderful afternoon, my son has just gone out in shorts and a t-shirt!

aw thats lovely , it was a nice day today. With them being indoors you see so much more of them, i find it better ;)

Yes I prefer having them indoors too. You just wait until they associate noises (like the fridge door) with food! There is no shutting them up then ;D

yep mine squeaks and popcorns when i open the fridge and also if I'm chopping anything :D
