If I wanted to change from pets at home nuggets to burgess supa guinea excell nuggets do i have to do it slowly, just wondering because the ingredients are almost the same ??

you need to mix half and half of your usual food for a few days then gradually increase the new food until they are on that totally, keeping an eye out for problems

ok,Thanks will do, I know that's what we would normally do, but wasn't sure as the food ingredients is almost identical.
Thanks again

I made this change a while ago and it tok ages for my pigs to eat the burgess pellets. They used to pick the pets at home ones out and leave the rest. Took at least a couple of weeks to make the full change. Good luck

have added some supa guinea excel today and they are picking out the P@H nuggets, what if they don't like them?

mine didnt like them either, mine picked them out and when i got them on full wouldnt touch the stuff..so i just put them on the science selective food which they originally had and I'm keeping to that because they like it

They shouldn't have any excuse! As you say the ingredients are almost identical. If they are picking out the old food I would just persist for a week or so until there is more Excel than nuggets.

Just wean them onto it slowly decrease the amount over a month or untill you run out of excell. I did it with all the piggies here and they were fine O0

do you all think supa guinea excell is far better than p@h nuggets? I want mine to have the very best.

The very best (in my opinion and that of many others) is Oxbow Cavy Cuisine. Excel and PAH nuggets are pretty much identical - the only reason I can see for swapping is not giving Pets at Home your money!

Excel nuggets are bigger though aren't they which could be why your piggies are picking out the P@H stuff. Mine like the P@H nuggets but not the Excel, I get P@H food brought in with the rescue pigs ::) I agree with DSL though about Cavy Cuisine.

Some people don't have the shear money for cavy cuisine, yes it is extremely good but for some it's unbuyable because of the expense.
Second best I would Reccomend Wagg optimum Pellets, they come in like a red/purpley dark coloured bag and are great!
