I've noticed since I got Pola 2 months ago her hair has gone from a dark ginger to a light ginger, almost like she was going blonder. Don't know how old she is, but she's still growing (she's at least 5 months minimum I would say)....and she's only been outside one time in her life, so it isn't sun-bleaching.

(it is even a little shade lighter than that, because that photo was taken a month ago)

Is it normal for hair color in pigs to change? :{

Yes, long haired guinea pigs get paler the longer the hair grows.

Even my five year old aby is still getting a bit lighter, apart from the tips which still retain their strong "baby colour".

aww bless she is lovely :D and yep their hair kinda 'matures' into an adult coat...just like with children really

It may just be my imagination, but I always seem to notice new ginger spots on my short-haired lilac and buff girl. Then again, it may be that I've just never looked hard enough. All her paws are different colours.

Most baby pigs are slightly darker in colour than they will be as adults. This is more noticeable on pale colours like Cream or Lilac. But on longhaireds the colour change is very obvious.

If you lift the coat up on a short haired pig you will see that the part of the hair closest to the skin is paler in colour.
As a longhaired pig's hair grows, what you are seeing is more and more of this 'undercolour'. The only bit left of the original top colour will be the very tips of the hair....and when you cut your longhaired pigs coat you won't even have that left !

Good question to ask..........i was wondering why my girls had changed so much :{
Now my question has been answered too thanks Vicky xoxoxoxo
