I,ve never heard of them. Who are they made by. I might ask them for a free sample.

I have done some research and it looks like they are made and advertised for rabbits and guinea pigs. I would not touch any food that is advertised in this way as they have different nutritional needs.

Hope this helps

If we didn't believe that our animals were better for feeding these we wouldn't have them delivered from the other end of the country for £16 a sack when we can buy other guinea pig feed for £12 five miles down the road :)

I feed Charnwood pellets and swear by them. I've been using them for approx a year and have never had any problems. They are quite a small pellet and dont seem too hard so even the tiniest babies and piggies recovering from mouth ops have no problems eating them.

I used a mix before I discovered these and had problems with selective feeding.

I posted my reply before you did yours so was not attacking you! I have my opinions and you have yours. All are as valid as others. That is what a forum is for. Please respect this.

I use Charnwoods and find them very good, no wastage and the pigs seem to really enjoy them as they're straight to the bowls when they are topped up :)

That is exactly why I put a smiley at the end of my post; I am not criticising you for your view.

I'd be genuinely interested to know the reasons why you think that the pellets cannot be right both for pigs and rabbits. Obviously the pigs need vit c which is in the pellets (and in their veggies anyway!)

The nutritional analysis is
Protein 15.8% Oil 3.9% Fibre 8.8%.
I can accept that this is higher in protein than many pig feeds.

Off the top of my head Allen & Page GP Mix is 12.5% which is low. Pregnant/lactating/growing pigs will need a higher protein than this so it depends what pigs you have.
It is lower in fibre than some mixes but given the huge amount of hay/haylage our lot get through I don't think it is a problem!
Must admit that I know absolutly NOTHING whatsoever about rabbit feeds :)...other than they eat less than pigs and get the runs if they have too many veggies (and don't need vit c). Perhaps someone can tell me something about rabbit nutrition because it may be that these pellets are not suitable for rabbits!

Sorry Juniper PMS gets me into trouble every time lol. You'd think I would learn. I will post up about differences in requirements when i have got some hard facts for you rather than the hearsay I have heard.

I heard of the Charnwood Hi-C pellets a few years ago. I would be interested to know the ingredients and how the quality compares to Burgess SG Excel and Science Selective.
