I can't believe how amazing these little animals are ... they have been in our lives for only one month and we are deeply in love with them! I had seen guinea pigs in petshops before and never took much notice ... but now that I have two of my own I spend hours just watching them and now appreciate guinea pigs for the wonderful creatures they are.
We lost our cat of ten years last summer and I never thought guinea pigs could fill the void but boy do they ever. I was surprised by how they are as satisfying a pet as a dog or cat ... even more so because they sometimes seem so small and vulnerable you just want to overload them with TLC!
Anyway, sorry to ramble - just the thoughts of a guinea pig newbie.
