Adult Guinea Pig
My husband Lee came out to get me when I was putting the rabbits to bed last night saying that Frankie was making a funny breathing nose. Naturally my heart dropped instantly and I went back inside to check on him. He seemed normal, ate some veggies no problem, so I googled guinea noises to see if there were any unusual ones it may have been. After listening to some audio clips Lee identified the noise as the singing/chirping that piggies do! I've never heard Frankie sing so Lee was a bit pleased with himself that he had witnessed it and I hadn't.
He wasn't quite as pleased when we read why they sing as it can be due to being upset or startled. Turns out he had been sat near the cage watching them, Frankie had come out of hiding and not noticed him then suddenly realised he was sat there, jumped and ran back into their bed. Poor little guy had just got a shock.
