So - my husband has tried to put up a paddling pool this week which collapsed soaking the grass in water which had a chlorine tablet in for a couple of hours. Probably not much chlorine at all and he has thrown buckets of fresh water over the grass but I am terrified to put my boys out in the garden now in case they get ill.

Any ideas?

I would avoid it, can't be any more specific i am afraid but will try and dig out some research if possible, if i find anything I will post it back here

Avoid it forever?

So annoyed it’s ruined the summer for them if I can’t put them out!

Chlorine is bleach and it's perfectly safe after 1 hour when its lost its strength or when it has dried. All the water we drink is all cleaned with bleach so I wouldn't worry it's how water is used setralised at a water plant and reused.

The smell of bleach in your tap water is likely caused by high levels of chlorine. Small traces of chlorine in your water is not harmful. It is actually required by the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) in order to disinfect water before it is distributed to homes and offices.

This is just a small quote which explains what I am saying in more 'technical' terms lol. If you give them tap water they are already exposed to chlorine.

Well we have chucked loads over and last night it pelted t down with rain so I’d hope it would have washed away now? It wasn’t much... still nervous!

I would think it’ll be okay if you’ve soaked it with fresh water, maybe mow it down as well if you’re worried?
