So I had covid and when I searched it up, I’m not meant to test with lateral flow or PCR for 90 days. Is this correct, even if I’m working somewhere where we are meant to do twice weekly tests?

I have a cold - I did a lateral flow that came back negative and a lot of children have sniffles/runny noses - but was wondering about the likelihood of catching corona twice in a short space of time…

Are you thinking school policy and government policy clash? Where did you read about not being tested for 90 days? My son caught covid 3 weeks ago and as he's attending day case hospital with clinically vulnerable kids, I did several PCR tests on us, to see what was what. They sent us the postal tests OK.

My daughter has to do a LFD twice a week at home for school, and according to what the school has sent us "if a child has received a positive PCR test result in the last 90 days, they should not do LFD tests as these could still show positive results"

From what I understand, if you develop symptoms within that time frame, you should have a PCR test. I'd ask school to clarify what you should do 🙂

I work in a school. Someone caught covid who I worked with and they were told you shouldn’t do a lateral flow test for 90 days. They had to get permission from the head teacher that they could come back and not test.

You can get a residual positive for up to that length of time so a false positive result is much more likely. Within 90 days you shouldn’t have it again, I’m not sure what the evidence is regarding repeat infection but you are still at peak immune response within that time. We don’t even test hospital admissions within 90 days.

What @CrestedPiggies posted is what I read on the government website as well. And someone in the office mentioned it as well, hence my looking it up. Looks like I only test (PCR straight away?) if I have symptoms.

So much stuff!
