Cleaning a boars private parts?

I understand that boars private parts (want for a better word) can get all sorts of muck and things stuck in them, at the moment I have two boars and I always check their under carriage and pull out any bits of hay that may have got stuck up there. I'm just not sure if there's a proper cleaning regime I should stick to regarding this as I don't want them to be for one uncomfortable and two smelly or unclean! Thanks to anyone who answers :-)

Impaction only usually becomes an issue for older boars, but it's useful to check them regularly anyway as they can get all sorts of things stuck up there!
