anyone know a good way to clean piggys ears?

merlin gets terrible wax build up in his ears, id appreciate some tips to keep them clean

At the rescues I've had some of my pigs from they say they clean them with a cotton bud, but I personally wouldn't feel comfortable doing it in case I caused damage. I wonder if eardrops would clear it?

when i first noticed, they were really bad, so i used a flat ended cotton bud to gently get the worst out but I'm not comfortable with sticking stuff in his ears :-\ it was really bad when i spotted it but its building right back up again :(

you can otodex ear drops from pet shops etc and clean the outer ear with a cotton bud, but like you say don't clean the inner ear. You could use cotton wool pads to clean the outer ear. I have heard that cleaning up the wax too much can cause ear mites but don't know if this is rubbish or not

he gets massive clumps of wax, none of my other pigs get it. ooo ill remember otodex ill look on the pet shop on the market when i go for hay

Yes Ortodex is can be used for wax build up I think. But I use olive oil and cotton wool and it keeps the ears nice and soft too.
