I have realized that my way of cleaning the guinea pigs water bottle is a grand hassle! How does everyone here clean their guinea pigs water bottle and nozzle?

I use a bottle brush and cotton bud for the nozzle. Occasionally I clean the nozzle with animal friendly cage cleaner and give it a mega good rinse 😃

I clean the nozzle with a cotton bud.
To clean the bottle, I put in some warm water and a handful of rice. I then put my hand over the top of the bottle and give it a massive shake in all directions. Then tip rice out and rinse. Bottle is as sparkly as new!

I had this issue with the plastic bottles so brought the Living World glass bottle one which is much better so then only have todo the nozzle / tip and I too use a cotton wool bud 😀

Use uncooked rice with a little water to clean the bottle with some vigorous shaking. And a cotton bud for a wider nozzle.
You can find the necessary illustrations in our bottle and drinking guide: All About Drinking And Bottles

This guide is part of our comprehensive New Owners guide collection, which is a very useful tool to use a reference. Because we keep it in this format, we can constantly update and add to the very helpful information on a wide range of topics we get the most questions and concerns about. Books are unfortunately quickly outdated at the moment in view of the major changes of the last years.

I alternate bottles, so I leave one in the dishwasher so it gets washed everyday for about 2 weeks lol, then keep swapping, irinse after to get all soap out

I tend to use the kitchen roll method or the raw rice method. Either work brilliantly. And then I use a cotton bud or a teapot spout cleaning brush for the nozzles.

I just wash mine every day in hot soapy water... always look clean.. am I missing something?
