My guinea pig Sky has started making a clicking noise through her nose just in the last 10 mins or so. There is no discharge from her nose, and she otherwise appears her usual self. I know this can be a symptom of uri but as she is otherwise well could it be something in her nose , like a piece of hay or some obstruction? Just wondered if anyone has experienced this with their pigs? Obviously if it carries on I will take her to see a vet tomorrow.

Hey! This sound... Does it sound like tapping a table or something with your nail? And is it quite fast clicks?

I've had that noise too happen. IDK what it means. But it has stopped

Does it look like the pig is flapping round his sides? My piggy had this and clicking and he was very ill 😖 please don't take a risk if you can see he is working hard with his sides and get him to a vet x

Thank you for your replies. The clicking did stop after about 20 - 30 mins. She was not struggling to breath and was not heaving in at her sides. I feel she must have had some dirt/ dust trapped in her nose. She sneezed a few times and after that she was back to her usual self.

Its scary when clicking noises come. It is a sign of pneumonia. One of my past pigs had it, but you could see his sides going in and out when breathing and had snot everywhere. He lived luckily another 2 years ( to be 6)after getting to the vet quickly. Glad your pig is ok 👍

Sounds like a bit of dust. Noises are scary when they happen, whenbthey clear it is such a relief!
